Michael A. Shechtman

Founding member Michael A. Shechtman was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in 1976, after receiving his law degree the same year from Villanova University School Of Law. He has been admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, The United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and The United States Supreme Court. He is a member of the American, Pennsylvania and Montgomery County Bar Associations.

He has served as an arbitrator and mediator in Federal Court as well as in Philadelphia and Montgomery counties. His practice focuses on domestic relations, estate matters and estate planning, business law, and real estate. Michael's over 35 years of experience practicing law gives him the perspective, confidence and knowledge that will protect your interests and provide counsel to you in even the most stressful of times.

A community activist, Michael Shechtman is a member of the Board of Directors of the Melrose Park Neighbors Association, the Cheltenham School District Foundation and the Rotary Club of Elkins Park. A life long resident of Eastern Montgomery County, Michael has two children of whom he is very proud: a daughter who is a recent graduate of the University of Miami, and a son who graduated from Haverford College and who has also received a law degree from the Temple University Beasley School of Law. In his spare time, Michael enjoys following Philadelphia sports and admits to being a crossword puzzle addict. He also loves playing tennis, and taking his dog, Mugsy, for long walks.

Michael also wants you to know that Mugsy is a hypoallergenic BichonFrise and certified Therapy Dog who is often present in Michael's office. Seeking the counsel of a lawyer often accompanies a period of great personal stress, and Mugsy has made many of Michael's clients feel more relaxed during their consultations. Mugsy has proven especially helpful for clients who bring young children with them to their appointments.

Jay Steven Harris
Mr. Harris, a founding member, was admitted to practice in Pennsylvania in 1976 after graduating from the Delaware School Of Law. He practices primarily in the field of personal injury, dealing with slip and falls, motor vehicle accidents, product liability, medical malpractice, social security, workers' compensation, and unemployment compensation.

Mr. Harris resides with his wife Deborah and his son Eric in Havertown, PA.
